Preparing Your Garden for Spring
Now that winter is looking like it is almost over, (although we will get frost in Feb I expect) now is a great time to get all those leaves and debris off your lawn. It is an important job before you get die back where the lawn is devoid of sunlight. Also - if you had lots of snow - you probably have hedges and plants that were badly bent over - you should help them with stakes and also try to push them back into their normal position. Be especially vigilant for any signs of rot or disease now the weather has warmed up a bit. Even though it is warmer, do not be tempted to start moving pots that are sheltering near the house away yet, some forecasters thing we will have a return to cold times for a week in Feb so we are not quite out of the cold period just yet.
